Mitzi Dunn (Receptionist):


Mitzi was born and raised in Southern Indiana & attended Ball State University - majoring in elementary education.  She and her boyfriend, Kent, moved to Auburn in 1996 & have loved living in the south.  They share a house with 3 pets - 2 golden retrievers (Savannah & Yukon) and 1 cat (Lucky). 



Tanya Schwab (Veterinary Technician):

 Tanya was born in Paintsville, Kentucky.  She moved to Mt. Sterling, KY her sophomore year in high school, and graduated in 1991.  She obtained her B. S. in Agriculture from Berea College in 1995.  Upon graduation, she married Eric Schwab on June 3, 1995, and moved to Auburn.  Eric obtained his M. S. in Agronomy while Tanya took graduate level courses in Animal and Dairy Science.  In 1997 they moved to Opelika.  On March 15 of 2005, they were blessed with a son, Ethan and a daughter Morgan on March 3rd of 2009.  While living in Alabama, Tanya has worked at several local veterinary hospitals and the Animal Emergency Center in Columbus.  The Schwab's have 1 dog (Sawyer), and 3 cats (Bailey, Murphy, and Toothy).  Outside interests are primarily occupied by Ethan,  Morgan and the pets, but include photography and reading.  The Schwabs make frequent trips to visit family and friends in Kentucky and Ohio, but have made Alabama their home. 


Haden Smith (Veterinary Technician)

 



Haden is a native of Opelika and graduated from Opelika High School.  She shares her home with 4 dogs (Caleb, Brodie Clyde & Bean), and a variety of fresh water fish.  She also has a great love of horses and continues to enjoy them at her parents home.  Haden's lifetime of experience and love of animals has persuaded her to make it a career.  She enjoys horseback riding and designing freshwater aquariums in her spare time.

Brandy McIntosh (Veterinary Technician)

Brandy was born in Naples, FL.  She moved to Alabama in 1998 and obtained her BS in both - Animal & Dairy Sciences and Poultry Science at Auburn University.  Brandy and her husband (Taylor) live on a farm and have several animals (fish, birds, ferrets, bunnies, cats, dogs, horses & a goat). In her spare time Brandy enjoys time with her husband, gardening, riding horses and going home to Florida.    

 

 

 

 

Joelle Ferrell (Veterinary Technician)

                                                                                  

Joelle was born in Windsor, CO.  She moves to Blacksburg, VA in 1998, and graduated from Pathway Christian Academy in 2006.  She obtained her AAS degree in general studies from New River Community College.  In 2008, she moved to Cusseta, AL and has since obtained her BS degree in Psychology from Troy University.  Joelle has worked at the Lee County Humane Society for the past 2 years.  She has 2 dogs (Buster & Kiwi) and 3 cats (Mufasa, Klondike & Precious).  During her spare time she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and dogs.  They go on many walks at the park & love to go hiking.  Joelle also enjoys photography and most other outdoor activities. 

Sarah Armstrong (Veterinary Assisstant)

                                                                                                         



 Sarah was born & raised in Auburn, AL.  She graduated from Trinity Christian School in 2008.  She has a jack russell terrier (Zelda) and 2 horses (Penny and Jazz).  She plans to pursure a career involving animals -although she is unsure of which avenue to choose.  Currently she enjoys 3 day event horseback riding and most outdoor activities.  She is enrolled in college part time and continues to further her education.
